Olivier & Denise Favre

Biography

Olivier Favre has been in the ministry for over 30 years in French-speaking Europe. First, Olivier pastored for 14 years in the Reformed Baptist Church of Lausanne (Switzerland) and then 10 years in pioneer work, planting two churches in Payerne and Neuchâtel (Switzerland).

At the beginning of 2015, Olivier and his wife Denise moved to Mulhouse, France, to help a small church; “La Maison de l’Evangile” that was without a full-time pastor. In anticipation of his retirement in January 2024 after 9 years of ministry in Mulhouse, Olivier has taken on a young pastor, Valentin Mazur, trained at the Institut Biblique de Bruxelles, accompanied by his wife Emilie and their three children. From January 2024, Valentin is the sole pastor, surrounded by three elders and a deacon. As the “Maison de l’Evangile” church has grown considerably in recent years, one of its current challenges is the construction of a new building.

By God’s grace, this church was able to purchase a property adjoining its own. It is currently in the fund-raising phase with a view to construction in the course of 2025. For their part, Olivier and Denise have moved back to Switzerland to be better able to help the various French-speaking Reformed Baptist churches as long as the Lord gives them the strength to do so. Starting in the summer of 2024, Olivier and Denise plan to exercise a ministry of advice, support and teaching for the various churches that ask them to do so.

During all these years and even before that, during their theological Studies, the Favres were partly supported by Grace Fellowship Church, Bremen, IN, USA, a church with which they have developed a very close relationship.
